Controller

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented individual who will oversee the company’s financial records and account personnel. You will be responsible for maintaining all procedures and controls related to the company’s financial accounts in addition to continuously improving the system of financial controls, including general accounting, investment accounting, tax compliance and planning, budgeting, banking, payroll, and benefits.

You will also:

Work with various federal, state and local funding agencies and their various and complex regulations and reporting requirements is critical and continually evolving.  While high level accounting and financial acumen is a must, the position at times, due to a small staff, requires the Controller to complete basic hands-on accounting tasks.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree, preference in accounting
  • C.P.A. preferred
  • 5 Years experience in financial management/accounting
  • 3 Years in a key role in managing the finances of a nonprofit organization preferred
  • General computing skills and spreadsheet applications experience required
  • Proficiency in Yardi preferred
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational, prioritization, and problem‐solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Typing: Minimum 36WPM
  • Ability to collaborate with coworkers & vendors
  • Franklin County Residency
