Accounting Bookkeeper

As a Bookkeeper for Creative Housing Inc., you will provide people a home by supporting the organization’s efforts to maintain the company’s fiscal health and promote positive public relations by providing optimum customer service to all stakeholders.

You will also:

  • Perform banking duties, including
    • Monitor and reconcile all banking activity and credit card transactions
    • Deposit checks via remote scan
    • Review and approve 2-part verifications on ACH transactions
  • Handle accounts receivables, including
    • Record tenant receipts, CMHA and other proceeds into appropriate software platforms.
    • Bill monthly work orders to HUD properties.
    • Reconcile PPD Rents and outstanding balances to Tenant Ledgers.
  • Process account payables, including
    • Process HUD utility and vendor payables and enter into FHA application.
    • Assist with uploading PMRS payment data into Yardi system.
    • Serve as a backup to A/P Associate.
  • Perform financial accounting duties including
    • Prepare month-end Bank Reconciliations and post entries to the G/L.
    • Record Depreciation, PPD Insurance expense, GPR and other recurring monthly entries.
    • Process year-end closing and adjusting journal entries and assist with schedules.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years of bookkeeping/general accounting experience required.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency required.
  • 2+ years Yardi or similar property management software proficiency preferred.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Typing: Minimum 36WPM
  • Customer service-oriented with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
