Community Supported Living
Creative Housing purchases properties throughout Franklin County and partners with Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities (FCBDD), who refers prospective tenants to us. Creative Housing leases to tenants below market rent and provides property maintenance services.
Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities works with prospective tenants and their families to give them a choice about whom they live with, the houses and neighborhood they’ll be living in, and any renovations required to accommodate unique circumstances.
How It Works
People with disabilities are too often isolated from their communities in congregate care facilities. Our Community Supported Living Program helps people with disabilities live on their own with maximum independence by providing traditional community housing in neighborhoods near their families, jobs, recreation, and places of worship.
Together with the Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities, we provide the opportunity for those who can live in the community to access safe, above-standard shelter and home & community-based supports promoting independent lifestyles for people with developmental and other disabilities.
Eligibility for Housing
Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities (FCBDD) refers individuals who qualify as eligible for Creative Housing’s supported community living program. Individuals interested in living in a Creative Housing home must be receiving a waiver eligible for services from FCBDD. They should contact and work with their Service Coordinator at FCBDD to be referred to the program.
If you have a question about eligibility or the referral process, call FCBDD Service Coordination at (614) 464-2743.
Respite Care Homes
Creative Housing owns four respite care homes that provide a safe and supported place for individuals who find themselves in need of short-term housing with supportive staffing. Each home is fully accessible and located in a residential setting.
